Tinubu on Presidency: "I'm Strong And Ready"

President-elect Bola Tinubu has declared his readiness to undertake the responsibilities attached to being Nigeria's number one citizen. Tinubu made this known upon his return to the country after a month-long stay in Paris, France. While he was away, there were reports that he was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed ailment. However, Tinubu dismissed reports about his health while addressing his supporters who had gathered at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja.

Tinubu reassured his supporters that he was ready for the task ahead and had been consulting and planning to put together a strong team to hit the ground running once he assumes office on May 29. He also took to Twitter to express his excitement at being back home and expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome he received.

Accompanied by his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu, and son, Seyi Tinubu, the President-elect was received by Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima, House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, Governors Simon Lalong of Plateau State and Abubakar Sani-Bello of Niger State, and former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff. Also at the airport were former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, APC Deputy National Chairman, North, Senator Abubakar Kyari, Deputy National Chairman, South, Barrister Emma Enekwu, and National Woman Leader, Dr. Betta Edu.

Several senators, including Barau Jibril, Adeola Olamilekan Yahyi, Opeyemi Bamidele, Dayo Adeyeye, Sabi Abdullahi, and Adelere Oriolowo, were also present, along with Secretary of the recently-dissolved Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. James Faleke, Hon. Babajimi Benson, and Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Director of media and publicity in the dissolved Presidential Campaign Council.
