We’ll complete all projects in Delta – Gov Oborevwori

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has reaffirmed his commitment to concluding all ongoing projects under his administration. This assurance was delivered during the 23rd Ogwa Ika and 19th Ika Ka Mma Annual Lecture series, which took place at Idumu-Esah in the Ika North East Local Government Area.

Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Kingsley Emu, Governor Oborevwori expressed that the construction of the Rest Park, situated between Umunede and Emuhu, is set to commence shortly.

Regarding the Rest Park, he assured, "We have effectively addressed all pertinent matters, and progress is imminent. As for the stalled road projects, we encourage you to provide us with the project locations and details of the contractors responsible for swift action."

On the complex issue of herders and farmers, he conveyed, "We are proactively handling the concerns surrounding this matter. In each local government area, committees have been established to navigate the challenges and dynamics of the relationship between herders and farmers."

Governor Oborevwori emphasized the importance of unity, stating, "Our unity is paramount. We should dedicate ourselves to nurturing and maintaining a cohesive community."

Expressing concern about the increasing waywardness among young individuals, he reminded them of the value of education. He stated, "Success in life is multifaceted; adhere to proven pathways towards progress to avert regrets."

Governor Oborevwori called upon esteemed sons and daughters of Ika to invest in their homeland, asserting that such endeavors would generate employment opportunities for the youth, acknowledging that government alone cannot fulfill all employment needs.

Conveying gratitude to the organizers of Ogwa Ika, he encouraged continued collaboration with traditional leaders, government entities, and relevant associations in advancing societal betterment.
