Luton Town manager Rob Edwards has explained the reasoning behind the club's decision to sign former Nigeria international Victor Moses on a free transfer. Edwards revealed that Moses had been in talks with the club for some time and had even trained with the team last week, playing 60 minutes in a behind-closed-doors game.
Moses' Versatility and Strength
Edwards praised Moses' versatility, stating that he can play on both sides or as a number ten, providing the team with more strength in depth. Moses' extensive experience playing for various clubs in England, including Wigan Athletic, Chelsea, Liverpool, West Ham United, and Stoke City, as well as his stint in Italy with Inter Milan, was also a significant factor in the signing.
No Pressure, Just Competition
Edwards emphasized that he doesn't want to put too much pressure on Moses, allowing him to settle into the team's dynamics and playing style. Moses is expected to provide competition for the squad, but Edwards is cautious not to expect too much too soon. The manager believes that Moses will make the squad stronger and is fit enough to contribute immediately.
