Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George, has cited the harsh weather conditions as a major factor in his team's goalless draw against Katsina United. Despite the challenging circumstances, Finidi believes his team deserved more from the game.
"It was a good game, despite the very hot weather," Finidi said in a post-match interview. "If you look at the first half, we deserved to score at least two goals." He acknowledged that the team failed to capitalize on their chances, while Katsina United pushed hard in the second half.
Finidi highlighted a crucial moment in the game, saying, "We still had one moment – Kabir's shot, which could have resulted in a goal." However, the team's efforts were ultimately unrewarded.
Despite the draw, Finidi expressed satisfaction with earning a point away from home. "Considering both halves, I'd say we deserved to win, but football being what it is, especially in an away match, I think one point is well-deserved," he said. "This is a difficult place to come and earn a point, so we're happy with it."
