"BACK HOME SAFE & SOUND. Proud of this team, NAIJA SPIRIT can't be broken," he tweeted. The Super Eagles endured a grueling 15-hour wait at Libya's Al Abaq Airport, prompting their decision to boycott the scheduled 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against the Mediterranean Knights.
Troost-Ekong, a veteran defender with over a decade of experience with the team, praised the squad's ability to overcome adversity. "Throw at us what you want, it's in our blood to overcome. I've seen a lot in my 10 years with this group, but nothing like this, an experience that has brought us even closer together," he added.
